Haydan Consultants, Inc is looking for an Assistant Resident Engineer to join our ever-expanding construction management team in the New York City area. We are currently looking for professionals with experience in the provision of construction management services for NYDEP water/wastewater treatment plants.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise the work of field inspectors and assist the Resident Engineer in the provision of construction management services.
- Support construction safety implementation through understanding of safety requirements.
- Assist with project controls activities such as schedule control, cost control, change management, risk management, and reporting tools.
- Provide assistance to RE during review of contractor progress payment requests.
- Assist the Resident Engineer with the enforcement of contract documents including plans and specifications.
- Assist during inspection of start-up and commissioning activities.
The successful candidate will require the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related degree
- 5+ years of experience performing construction management, of which minimum 3 years in water/wastewater projects
- Experience working on NYCDEP projects is preferred
- Registration: NYS PE (desirable), CCM (desirable) – NOT MANDATORY
- OSHA safety training
- Proficiency in the use of computers to prepare reports using Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience working in/for municipal agencies or utility infrastructure organizations
- Ability to respond proactively in a high-paced environment and willingness to adjust and respond effectively to changes
Rate: $60-$65/Hr.
