Haydan Consultants, Inc. is currently seeking a Senior Project Engineer to work on the Code Development Unit assisting in the process of rulemaking concerning amendments to the Uniform Code, with a focus on coordinating the Uniform Code with the NYS Energy Code and any new energy related regulations and initiatives.
Position Overview
Our client seeks a Registered Design Professional to provide technical guidance and make presentations of findings to the Code Council. RDPs also organize documents, perform technical reviews, attend public hearings, and assist in the research and development of technical documents.
Minimum Qualifications
- MUST Possess of a NYS license (Registered Architect or Professional Engineer).
- Three years of experience in post-licensure professional practice responsible for performing design and/or inspection of building systems for both commercial and residential buildings, including but not limited to mechanical, electrical, hydronic systems, and HVAC systems including geothermal systems. Experience shall include code compliance analysis and review, preparation of construction documents, and coordination and performance of construction inspection services.
- Candidate should have a working knowledge in the application of codes, laws, rules, and standards regulating the design and construction of buildings, a working knowledge of building construction costs and development of opinions of probable cost, and familiarity with NYS Energy Law, Executive Law, and other NYS regulatory processes.
- Experience in the development of training curriculum and the presentation or delivery of technical information.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project. Familiarity with SharePoint and Adobe FrameMaker or other publishing tools would be beneficial.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
