Haydan Consultants, Inc., has an opening for a Structural Engineer in Rosedale, NY.
The position duties are as follows:
For various and unanticipated client sites throughout the New York metropolitan area, which includes the states of NY and NJ, and involves short and long term assignments. Prepare design modifications for construction and engineering calculations. Assist in the preparation of construction sequences and schedules. Review and respond to requests for information from sub-contractors. Review and approve engineering design, product submittals, and construction change orders. Coordinate with other non-structural engineers for their respective trades. Attend meetings and prepare meeting minutes; participate in project safety programs; and support and assist the project manager in the execution of their duties.
The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, a related field or foreign equivalent followed by five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in a civil engineering role. Alternatively, employer will accept a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, a related field or foreign equivalent plus three (3) years of experience in a civil engineering role. Experience must include:
- 5 years of experience (or the alternative 3 years of experience) using structural analysis software, such as ETABS, SAP2000 or STAAD Pro.
- 5 years of experience (or the alternative 3 years of experience) building design codes and standards that include International Building Code (IBC), American Concrete Institute (ACI), and American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC).
- 5 years of experience (or the alternative 3 years of experience) preparing clear and concise construction documents that include plans, details, and specifications.
- 5 years of experience (or the alternative 3 years of experience) using CAD and BIM software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or MicroStation) for preparation of construction documents.
