Haydan is partnering with AECOM to provide document control services for the New York Power Authority’s (NYPA) largest projects in Niagara: Niagara Switchyard Transmission Life Extension & Modernization (TLEM – Niagara Switchyard), Lewiston Pump-Generating Plant Life Extension & Modernization (LPGP LEM) and Next Generation Niagara Modernization and Digitization (NGN). The Haydan team is responsible for overseeing multiple document management systems, such as SharePoint, Utility Operations Project Portfolio, SmartUse and ProCore. Additionally, staff ensures all project documents (drawings, contracts, purchase orders, RFI/submittals) are uploaded and maintained for any upcoming internal and external audits. Lastly, Haydan provides necessary support to the Western New York construction team, including but not limited to coordinating background checks and security clearances for contractor access to multiple sites, project expense reporting and purchase order reconciliation. The project at TLEM – Niagara Switchyard consists of upgrading the switchyard’s equipment, including auto transformers, breakers and disconnect switches. At LPGP LEM, work includes replacing aging generation equipment to increase pump and turbine efficiency, pump flows, turbine output and the smooth operating range of the pump turbines. Work at NGN involves upgrading the plant control system with the latest machinery and incorporating advanced digital technologies for optimizing the overall hydroelectric project performance. Due to the Haydan team’s exceptional work and strong partnership with NYPA, our contract was renewed for two additional years.
